The Sale Conveyancing Timeline
The flowchart gives an overview of the Sale conveyancing process
You instruct your lawyer, pay the amount requested to buy the documents needed to
issue the contract and confirm your identity.

Your lawyer sends you a property questionnaire to fill in and obtains copy deeds. If your property is leasehold a payment to your management company will be required to obtain the additional information that will be required by the seller’s lawyer.

On receipt of your questionnaire your lawyer will check all the title details and the relevant documents. They will also request repayment figures from your mortgage lender if needed.

………………….. send a contract pack to the buyer’s lawyer and a contract to you to sign and return to them.

Your lawyer will deal with enquiries from your buyer’s lawyer and liaise with you if needed.

Once your buyers are ready they will contact your lawyer with a suggested completion date unless this has already been agreed. A financial statement will be sent to you which may request funds.
Contracts Exchanged and Completion Date Fixed.
